Project - Can you link a gantt bar color/style to a resource? Project 2003

I am trying to assign a different bar color to each main resource and have it
show up in the legend below. If I change the colors manually for each bar
then it doesn't show up in the legend.
In essence I'm trying to assign a purple color for task  done by the
architect, blue for the engineers and green for the client... how do I
achieve that??
